Production process of isothiazolinone

Isothiazolinone is an important organic compound commonly used in the preparation of drugs, dyes, and other organic compounds. The following is the production process of isothiazolinone:

Amination reaction: The reaction of thioacetaldehyde with ammonia water produces 2-amino-5-thiovalerate dimethyl ester.

Condensation reaction: 2-amino-5-thiovalerate dimethyl ester and benzaldehyde are condensed under alkaline conditions to produce 2- (phenylmethylene) -5- (methoxycarbonyl) -1,3,4-isothiazolinone.

Refining: Vacuum distillation and crystallization of the reaction mixture to obtain pure isothiazolinone.

It is worth noting that safety and environmental friendliness need to be considered during the production of isothiazolinone. Appropriate personal protective equipment should be used, reaction conditions should be strictly controlled, and harmful gases, wastewater, and exhaust gases should be avoided. In addition, measures need to be taken to recover waste liquid and reduce waste discharge during the refining process to ensure environmental sustainability of the production process.
