Main components and formulas of reverse osmosis scale inhibitors

Reverse osmosis scale inhibitor is a chemical substance used to prevent damage to reverse osmosis membranes due to scale and pollutants. Its main ingredients and formula can be adjusted according to specific products and applications, but usually include the following components:

Corrosion inhibitors: Corrosion inhibitors are generally organic amines or oxalic acids, such as amino trimethylene phosphonic acid (ATMP), valerenic acid (EDTA), etc. They can form complexes with metal ions, reducing the corrosion of metal ions on reverse osmosis membranes.

Dispersant: Dispersants can help disperse and suspend particles in water, and prevent them from forming precipitates on reverse osmosis membranes. Commonly used dispersants include sodium polyacrylate (PAA), polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP), etc.

Sulfate inhibitors: Sulfate inhibitors can prevent sulfate precipitation, commonly used include nitrite, sulfite, etc.

Anti foaming agent: Anti foaming agent is used to reduce the generation and accumulation of bubbles in water, reducing the impact of bubbles on the membrane surface. Commonly used anti foaming agents include silicone oil, surfactants, etc.

It should be noted that different reverse osmosis scale inhibitor products may have different formulations and proportions. When using, appropriate products should be selected based on water quality and specific requirements, and correct dosing and operation should be carried out according to product instructions. In addition, the use of reverse osmosis scale inhibitors should also comply with relevant regulations and standards to ensure their safety and environmental friendliness.
