What agent is used for yellowing inhibitor in textile

In textile manufacturing, there are various agents and additives used as yellowing inhibitors to prevent or minimize the yellowing of fabrics during processing, storage, or use. One commonly used yellowing inhibitor in textiles is optical brighteners or optical brightening agents (OBAs).

Optical brighteners are chemical compounds that absorb ultraviolet light and re-emit it as visible blue light, thereby enhancing the whiteness and brightness of fabrics. They work by compensating for any yellowish tint that may develop in fabrics due to factors like aging, exposure to light, or contact with certain substances.

These OBAs are typically added to textile formulations, such as detergents, softeners, or finishing agents, or applied directly to fabrics during the finishing process. They are designed to remain on the fabric even after washing and provide a temporary whitening effect.

It's important to note that the selection and usage of yellowing inhibitors can vary depending on the specific textile application, fabric type, and desired performance characteristics. Other additives or treatments may also be used in combination with OBAs to address yellowing issues, such as antioxidants, UV absorbers, or specific dyeing and finishing processes.

Manufacturers and textile professionals often conduct lab tests and trials to determine the most effective yellowing inhibitor for their specific requirements. Consulting with experts in the textile industry or chemical suppliers can provide valuable guidance and recommendations on the suitable yellowing inhibitors for different textile materials and processes.
